Loeseneriana is a compact grower with short flat stems in a tight cluster.  Flowers are 4 to 5cm across and appear over the warmer months, mostly Autumn.  This species belongs to the Stapelia or Starfish flower group, they are soft-bodied succulents that can easily be damaged or rot, so care must be taken with handling and watering.

Smell rating - Mild.

POSITIONING - full sun or partial shade, preferably under cover. Indoors only near windows.

WATERING - regularly over the growing period from spring to autumn but it is essential to allow the mix to dry between waterings.

FEEDING - 25% of recommended dosage monthly in the growing period. the less food, the better the shape of the plant. Fertilisers high in nitrogen can reduce flowering period.
